​About the Workforce Development Board

Job training and employme​nt services in Kane, Kendall, and DeKalb Counties are overseen by the Workforce Development Board. The board, which is appointed by the three County Board Chairmen, assists and advises local elected officials regarding the use of Federal workforce development funds. The business-led Workforce Development Board represents regional employers, labor organizations, higher education, community-based organizations, economic development and workforce system partners. It establishes policies to ensure these services are relevant, flexible, demand driven and customer focused thus contributing to the vitality of the region's economy. Staff support for the Workforce Development Board is provided by a consortium of workforce agencies, including the Workforce Development Division of the Kane County Office of Community Reinvestment. If you are interested in serving as a member of the Workforce Development Board, please review our application packet​ to learn more about the Board's responsibilities and the requirements of membership.
