The Kane County Building Management Department oversees the operations and maintenance of more than one million square feet of the County's buildings and grounds, spanning from Aurora to Elgin to better serve its residents. Some of these include the Kane County Health Department in Aurora, Government Center campus in Geneva, Judicial Center campus in St. Charles and the newest building located in Elgin that will serve as a satellite office for the Kane County Health Department and other county government offices. The department also manages the long-term planning for County owned facilities and oversees capital improvement projects, in addition to implementing energy conservation initiatives and projects to reduce utility costs.

Operations and Maintenance

The Building Management department manages the preventative and ongoing maintenance, operations and improvement of County facilities. This includes but is not limited to routine custodial services, waste removal, snow removal and grounds maintenance and operations of building systems such as heating and air conditioning systems, energy management systems, plumbing, door locks, electrical, flooring, pavement and sidewalk and more.

Capital Program and Project Management

The department also manages the long-term planning for County owned facilities and working with contractors and consultants, oversees the management of capital improvement projects for renovation work and new construction.
